It was announced at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that Lego would be releasing a new version of the Tumbler from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, and just the picture alone sends a joyful tingle down my spine. This Batmobile model clocks in at over 1,800 pieces, and yes, it comes in black. A build with a piece-count that high will more than likely require several pee and sandwich breaks, and you may have trouble getting a hold of me for a day or two once I get my hands on this bad boy. When I acquire this must-have set, I will post pictures of the finished product here on the site.
The set also comes with two Lego Minifigures- one of Batman, and the other modeled after Heath Ledger’s brilliant turn as the Joker in the 2008 masterpieceThe Dark Knight. This amazing specimen of engineering will set you back $199.99, and it will be worth every penny, I’m sure. I happened to see the built display model at the Lego Store in the Freehold Mall yesterday, and it is a BEHEMOTH. We’re gonna need a bigger shelf! The Tumbler set is due to hit the shelves in a retail store near you, and hopefully the toy shelves in your houses, this September (and it’s available early for Lego VIP Members, but you didn’t hear that from me). Christmas comes early this year!
